Upgren 1 is an asterism in the constellation of the Hunting Dogs (CVn). The object was previously thought to be an open star cluster, but since
1988 it has been clear that it is not a cluster, but that the stars just happen to be in the same direction. The proper motions do not match either.
The five brightest stars are 340...500 light-years away from Earth. Their magnitudes are between 7.3mag and 9.1mag.

In my 20" telescope, Upgren 1 is of course a very easy object. The 5 brightest stars shine quite bright and whitish at the lowest magnification. Some
fainter stars are also visible. All in all, not a particularly exciting object, but still quite nice ;)
