The quasar with the designation "4C 06.69" is located in the constellation Pegasus at a distance of 8.0 billion light years and has a redshift of z=1.003. The escape velocity
is 180,000 kilometers per second - which is more than half the speed of light. This means that the quasar moves away from us every two seconds by the distance Earth-Moon.

The observation of 4C 06.69 with my 20" f/3.2 Dobson was not very difficult. Since the quasar is next to an asterism, it is quite easy to fix the position with averted
vision. The QSO was visible most of the time. North of the QSO is also a brighter star, shining in a pale yellow hue. Overall, a nice and easy observation.
